MOBI.E, the managing entity of Portugal’s national electric mobility network, needed a modern and highly scalable digital platform to interconnect thousands of EV charging stations and ensure real‑time communication across the entire ecosystem. The growing adoption of electric mobility in Portugal created the need for a cloud‑native, interoperable and event-driven solution capable of supporting a nationwide network
Solution
Link Consulting designed and delivered a next‑generation platform based on an event-driven architecture using Solace PubSub+, a secure and scalable Kong API Gateway, and a microservices layer developed in Node.js, fully deployed on Microsoft Azure.
The platform processes over 5,000 messages per second and connects more than 7,000 charging stations, enabling seamless integration across operators and service providers. The project spanned 36 months and involved a dedicated team of 19 FTEs.
